At Mount Olive, we believe that all we have is given to us by God. Sharing our time, skills, and financial resources strengthens our relationships with God and one another. Ultimately, this is about love.
Through our sharing, we support the work of our faith community, especially as we participate financially. Members’ regular offerings, gifts from nonmembers, and generous response to special appeals support the annual budgeted ministry of the congregation.
Reaching Out
But shared ministry is not just about Mount Olive. Engaging with God in prayer and discernment, the congregation tithes 12 percent of donations to the work of ministry partners close by and throughout the world.
- We faithfully serve our neighborhood and community
- We enthusiastically accompany our many global partners in their work in faraway places.
- We gladly reach out into the world through Lutheran World Relief, the Lutheran World Federation, and ELCA World Hunger.
How to Serve
Members and friends of Mount Olive make our ministry happen. Whether they serve by baking bars for a gathering, offering rides to worship, keeping the gardens weeded, or building storage cabinets, they contribute their time and skills to support the work of the congregation.
To find out more about service opportunities or to offer your own time and skills, contact the director of Shared Ministry.
